I was only 16 when a hard sneeze left me crippled with back issues, putting me down for days. Little did I know, this was just the beginning of a decade-long battle that would shape my future in ways I never could have imagined.
Throughout high school and college, I suffered from these crippling episodes about half a dozen times a year. As a pre-veterinary medicine student, I had a basic understanding of science, anatomy, and healthcare, but no one seemed to have answers for my pain.
I went back and forth between medical doctors, physical therapists, and orthopedic specialists, religiously following their recommendations, but nothing seemed to help. They couldn't find anything wrong on MRIs and simply told me I had poor core strength - an explanation that never sat well with me as a competitive athlete and martial arts practitioner.
It wasn't until I was 26 years old that a conversation with my martial arts instructor led me to Dr. Marla, a chiropractor who would change my life forever. After a particularly bad back injury, I finally took her card and made an appointment.
Dr. Marla took one look at my X-rays and knew exactly what was wrong. With a single adjustment, she provided the relief I had been seeking for nearly a decade. At that moment, I knew I had found my calling.
I enrolled in chiropractic college and began my journey to help others the way Dr. Marla had helped me. But as I started treating patients in my own practice, I realized there was still more to learn.
Many of my patients, particularly those with diabetes, were developing neuropathy symptoms that I felt ill-equipped to handle. Determined to find a solution, I sought out training from experts like Dr. Barlow and the American Functional Neurology Institute.
Armed with this new knowledge, I was able to help my patients overcome their neuropathy symptoms naturally, avoiding medications and amputations. I watched in awe as an 80-year-old gentleman regained his balance and started dancing with his wife again, and a woman in her 50s overcame a frozen shoulder without surgery.
These successes only fueled my passion for helping others. I've made it my mission to provide top-notch, personalized care to every patient who walks through our door, treating them not just as a collection of symptoms, but as individuals with unique needs and goals.
If you're struggling with neuropathy, chronic pain, or other neurological issues, I invite you to experience the difference that our caring, comprehensive approach can make. Let us help you get your life back, just like Dr. Marla did for me all those years ago.
